Competitive Team Swim Meet Assessments
Our club is funded in two main ways. First, we collect monthly membership dues. Secondly, we host swim meets. In these two ways we are able to fund the needs of our club.
As a member of the Competitive Team you are expected to help RIO host our meets to ensure our second form of income. Without these meets your monthly dues would be significantly higher.
As a result, each family of the Competitive Team is responsible to assist in running our swim meets. Those that can not or do not wish to volunteer can pay an assessment fee per meet session. In this manner each family of the team is held equally responsible for helping our club raise the additional funds needed to operate.
Each Competitive Team family (regardless of the number of swimmers in their family) is responsible to provide one volunteer for each meet session held during the year. This volunteer does not have to be a member of your family but all volunteers must work the entire meet session. Families that can not volunteer will be assessed the charges as listed below. This applies to all families for each meet session regardless of your child's attendance at a particular meet. Assessments to families that do not
volunteer will be applied to the next invoice following the meet's completion.
Each family is allotted TWO sessions off during the course of the year. One of the two sessions off can be redeemed during the Lost Dutchman swim meet. Any family that works all six session of the Lost Dutchman meet will be awarded an additional two sessions off during the year (a max of four sessions).
