  Fundraising
Fundraising/Volunteer Policy

There is a fundraising requirement for every swimmer in the competitive division of our team.  This amount is set to for the entire year and is designed to off set the deficit in our budget that remains after membership dues are collected.  The 2008 fundraising requirement for each competitive team swimmer is $900.  This amount is pro-rated for new members joining the club based on your joining date.  Each family will be billed $225 per competitive team swimmer at the end of each quarter.  This charge can be offset by volunteering to help us run our swim meets.  Volunteer sign-ups occur before each meet and volunteer positions are awarded points which represent dollars that are raised at the meet.  These points will automatically reduce your fundraising requirement by one dollar for each point earned.  Those who do not want to volunteer can simply pay the requirement and never be expected to volunteer at a swim meet.

There are also other ways to raise money.  Below is a list of current fundraisers our club participates in...

If you have something to sell as a fundraising effort at one of our swim meets, please be aware of our Club Member Vendor Policy.

United Way Contributions

United Way kicks off their campaign during the month of October.  Numerous businesses have made arrangements with United Way to allow their employees to designate a specific 501 c 3 organization to be the recipient of their donation.  Rio Salado Swim Club is a 501 c 3 organization and is eligible to receive United Way donations.  Although Rio is not yet been given an organization recipient number from United Way, if you would like to have your United Way donation given to Rio Salado Swim Club, please  write our organization name, address (868 N. Gilbert Rd. Suite 100, Gilbert, AZ ), phone number (480-897-7946) in the designated agency spot on your United Way donation form at your place of employment.  United Way will contact Rio to verify our non-profit status and then forward the funds to Rio within several months of the close of the campaign.  Your United Way donation, when received by Rio Salado Swim Club, can be used dollar for dollar to offset your fundraising requirement for the club.  Intel Corporation allows their employees to designate specific 501 c 3 organizations.  Intel matches your donation which goes to United way and  100% of your donation will go directly to the Rio Salado Swim Club.  In turn our club will apply that amount to your fundraising account which can be used to help support your child's swimming endeavors.  You can check with your United Way coordinator at your place of business for additional instructions specific to your situation.  Please consider designating your United Way contribution to Rio Salado Swim Club.
